FIRST GRADE

 

LANGUAGE EXPERIENCE STORY

After students take a field trip to a car dealership or auto shop, the whole class participates to create a language experience story. Students take turns sharing events of the day as the teacher records their thoughts on paper by using the student's exact words. Student drawn pictures may also be added.

COUNTING ON A CAR

By utilizing a car in the the school parking lot, go out and find parts on a car that total the numbers one through ten. For example, the number one equals one steering wheel, one horn, one engine. The number two equals two bumpers, two windshield wipers, two side mirrors. See how many more you can do!!
