ABC Car Book

Students will work as a class, in cooperative groups, or individually to create a book. For each letter of the alphabet, write a word associated with the automobile. For example, on the page designated for the letter "A", the student may choose to draw a picture of an automobile and write a sentence or two about his/her picture.

Car Time Line

Using information and pictures from the following web sites, the students will work either as a whole class or in cooperative groups to compile a time line of cars used during the past 100 years. Click on one of the sites below for pictures.

Car/Truck Race

Students will either bring toy matchbox cars and trucks from home, or use those provided by the teacher to measure distances when pushed. Before the race, predictions can be made: Which car/truck will travel the farthest distance and why? Which car/truck will travel the shortest distance and why? After measurements are taken, the students will graph the distances on graph paper to interpret their results.
